Hello, amazing Classy friends!

Today, I’m excited to share how I’m addressing my hair loss using PDO mono threads from Glowface.

PDO mono threads can be a helpful treatment for hair loss due to several mechanisms that promote a healthier scalp environment and stimulate hair follicle activity.

When PDO mono threads are inserted into the scalp, they create a controlled micro-injury. This triggers the body’s natural healing response, leading to the production of new collagen and elastin around the threads. Collagen provides structural support to the skin and hair follicles, while elastin improves skin elasticity. A stronger, healthier dermal environment is crucial for supporting existing hair and encouraging new growth.

The presence of the threads and the subsequent healing process also stimulate neovascularization, which is the formation of new blood vessels. Enhanced blood flow to the scalp means that hair follicles receive a richer supply of oxygen, nutrients, and growth factors. This improved nourishment is vital for revitalizing dormant follicles, strengthening existing hair, and promoting the growth phase of the hair cycle.

PDO threads can also directly activate and stimulate cells within the hair follicles, including those in the hair bulb and bulge region, which are critical for hair regeneration. This activation encourages cell division and proliferation, promoting the growth of new hair strands. The mild inflammatory response provoked by the threads concentrates growth factors in the scalp. These growth factors are essential signaling molecules that can encourage hair growth and overall scalp health. While mono threads are smooth and don’t provide a direct “lift” in the same way barbed threads do, when placed strategically in the scalp, they can form a subtle mesh-like structure. This acts as a supportive framework, which can contribute to stabilizing and strengthening hair follicles.

PDO mono threads create an optimal biological environment in the scalp by boosting blood flow, collagen production, and cellular activity. This comprehensive regenerative process helps to slow down hair loss and encourages the growth of new, thicker, and healthier hair over time.
